Farmer City Chamber of Commerce home page. using a full photo of main street and the Facebook feed, since they use facebook a lot having on the front helps get the info out there to new people coming to the site.

The Farmer City Chamber of Commerce, a community organization focused on businesses promotion, puts on events through out the year such as a 5K Run, Farmer’s Market and After Hours at local businesses. They didn’t have a website and looking for an online presence to help get information out about themselves and their events.

The site was created in WordPress, to help keep it organized for press releases, event photos and if they need to go in and update it themselves. Used Headway to design the site so many of the pages had their own special looks for design. The front page I kept it basic with a photo I took of Main St., added a calendar that pulls in their Google calendar without it looking like a Google Calendar feed, it will pull in other Google Calendars if needed in the future, and a signup for their e-newsletter through MailChimp.

As part of my on going maintenance work I take photos of events that I’m able to attend; update pages; add new members to the membership page. Outside of the website I put together the Garage Sale listings with a Map on the front with numbers to the garage sale listings on the back.

Jan. 2017: Another member has taken over the site and changed the design.
