Visit Farmer City: Test Site

December 26, 2020

Visit Farmer City is a test website location that I use to work on website ideas usually for big projects. When doing these sample sites I give them a generic branding to not show who the customer is. Right now it’s being used to create an idea for a newspaper and not directed toward any paper just to the general industry. Newspaper sites are some of the biggest and most complex of websites; sale sites, social media being another big sites. The site has to show various different types of news, have multiple readers and advertising on the site.

I went with a new type of look for a newspaper site. Most paper sites are crammed with information, much like a newspaper, where they feel the need to fill every space possible like they have a limited space, just like they would have with the printed page. I’ve added more white space and more of a styled look to the site.

The top section pulling in the newest ‘featured’ story this is a category that would be shared. Such as it could be a Sports story and also categorized as a Featured and show in both locations.  Currently I have some history news and a couple of press releases that I had received on the site to give it some data to use and it not being just a lot of Lorem Ipsum (dummy text).
